I am Krishna Chaitanya Rao, deeply immersed in the world of educational research at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I intersect technology with education to explore and expand its potential for societal benefit. My journey over 10+ years across various sectors—industry, government, startups, and academia—has not only broadened my perspective but also deepened my expertise in computer science, data science & analytics, artificial intelligence, generative AI, and the crucial aspects of ethics, bias, fairness, and safety in AI.
My academic foundation is robust, with a Master’s in Data Science and a Ph.D candidate. in Education – Learning Technology. This educational background has equipped me with the tools to make meaningful contributions to the field, including co-authoring two books, securing more than five international patents, and publishing over ten research papers in esteemed journals. These accomplishments reflect my commitment to advancing our understanding of technology’s role in education and society.
My role extends beyond research and academia. I have had the privilege of serving as a judge and speaker at renowned forums like MIT, Harvard University, UMich Ann Arbor, and the GenAI hackathon by Microsoft at Georgia Tech. My work has also led me to speak on international platforms such as the United Nations and UNESCO, advocating for the responsible and ethical use of AI. Currently, I advise forward-thinking organizations like Tensereum AI, the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, and the CoDiE Awards, driving innovation while steering the conversation towards ethical AI applications.
