Kathleen Gosser — KFC (Yum! Brands) - Director, Learning & Development

  • YUM! Assistant Professor of Franchise Management
  •
  • I teach undergraduate students and graduate students the principles of franchise management. I teach both online and in person. My online courses are written in RISE (part of Articulate software package), so I am very familiar with all eLearning. I also teach franchise management in professional applications with an online non-credit certificate. I am the director of the Yum! Center for Global Franchise Excellence at the University of Louisville as well – we focus on education and research in franchising, particularly for women and people of color.
  • I retired from Yum! Brands after a 35-year career. My last role was director of Learning and Development and chair of the KFC Foundation. I led a large team of instructional designers to create training (in house) for over 4000 restaurants. I also led OD efforts including culture surveys and work. I spent 7 years in that role. I was also the Dean of Yum! University for about 7 years, which was leadership development training for those working above the restaurant level. My team earned a total of 16 Brandon Hall awards during my tenure as director of L&D.
